Rheem's Central Air Conditioning Units
Rheem offers 15 options in central air conditioning units for homes. Six of these products have the Energy Star Partner label. Products awarded this label by the Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy are found to significantly enhance energy savings in addition to providing a healthy environment.
Rheem's air conditioning units use r-410A refrigerant, a modern coolant which eliminates the possibility of the refrigerant leaking out from a system and damaging the ozone layer. It is a much safer cooling agent than the old Freon refrigerant or the current R-22 refrigerant which will no longer be manufactured after 2015.
The company offers a wide variety of air conditioning units to fit all budgets. Their units range from 18 SEER down to 10 SEER (SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating). The higher the SEER rating is, the more energy-efficient an air conditioning unit will be.
Rheem's Heat Pumps
Another option for air conditioning needs in a home is a heat pump. Heat pumps are air conditioning units that are also used to heat a home. Rheem has ten models of heat pumps. The RPPB heat pump series has earned the Energy Star Partner label; and the Rheem heat pump models range from 14 SEER down to 10 SEER and feature r-410A refrigerant.
Rheem's Gas Furnaces
Rheem offers a total of 19 models of gas furnaces for homes, seven of which have earned the Energy Star Partner label. The top-of-the-line gas furnace models offer 90% AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency). A 90% AFUE means that 90% of the fuel will be used to heat the home, while the remaining 10% of the fuel will escape as exhaust. Their lower-end models offer 80% AFUE. Many of Rheem's gas furnaces come with a 20-year heat exchanger warranty.
Rheem's Oil Furnaces
Rheem offers two models of oil furnaces for homes. One is an 80% AFUE downflow/horizontal oil furnace. The other is an 80% AFUE upflow oil furnace. Both models come with a limited lifetime heat exchanger warranty.
Rheem's Warranties
Each Rheem product comes with its own specific warranty, usually a standard factory warranty which is a limited parts warranty for five years. Many of Rheem's products have longer standard warranties covering up to ten years. Some furnaces even have 20-year warranties on heater exchangers. Rheem also has an extended warranty option which allows their customers to buy further protection for their investment.
